"O, my God...thou art holy,
enthroned on the praises of his people"
(Psalm 22:3 (RSV))
"The LORD is our savior, we shall sing to stringed instruments
in the house of the LORD all the days of our life."
(Isaiah 38:20)
"I announced your deed to a great assembly; I did not restrain my lips; you, LORD, are my witness. Your deed I did not hide within my heart; your loyal deliverance I have proclaimed. I made no secret of your enduring kindness to a great assembly."
(Psalm 40:10-11)
Worship of God is proclaiming His name, who He is, and what He has done for us in our lives. When we proclaim His name, we come to know Him more intimately. When we praise Him we come to love Him for His goodness and mercy. When the LORD works in our lives we find that we cannot keep Him to ourselves: we must share Him with others.
A festival of praise is dynamic, contemporary, praise and worship music interspersed with readings from Scripture and shared testimonies of God's power, love, and mercy.
The goals of Wide Open Worship are:
- To introduce young adults to praise and worship and how to enter into the Lord's presence through praise and thanksgiving.
- To be open to and develop the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
- To develop and promote relationships and community among Christian young adults.
At The Well is always in full obedience to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and ecumenical in welcoming our Christian brothers and sisters into the unity in the Body of Christ. The Sacrament of Penance (Confession) is often available when we have priests on hand. Special nights of Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be announced!
